Reality is interesting enough as it is and it’s about that we work: bringing reality back to the spotlight. Public intervention should, thus, help create critical thinking about the space we live in, help promote a collective sense of responsibility about our own reality.
By making reality’s processes intelligible as they are – i.e., with no predefined conception of what’s right and wrong about it – everyday users of space get a chance to reposition themselves in a reality that is so well-known, that it became numbing. Whatever we choose to do (or not to do), it should be an actual choice, not the result of a
lack of engagement.
Intervention should be a means to an end, not the end itself: it’s about an approach strategy, rather than the material result. It is, in principle, ephemeral. It’s reality that’s permanent.

SAND BAG | WOREK Z PIASKIEM
workshop tutoring and installation in SHIFT’17 - Future Architecture Platform
Museum of Architecture of Wroclaw
In collaboration with Filip Bazamik, Jan Matusevicz, Kamila Melka, Martyna Cyran
Wroclaw, Poland |2017
The intervention exists not to be seen, but to make one see. In WOREK Z PIASKIEM, an intervention is made in the semi-public space of an interior block. Aiming to promote new views on what was already there, the device used sandbags. This material – modular, resistant, neutral – enabled several settings that explore and make intelligible matters of limit, layout, pre-existence, route, trench, bridge, as well as the concepts themselves of space regulation and spontaneous usage.

METAL PROP
Public Space Art Festival CICLO 2014
In collaboration with Marta Pereira
Torres Vedras, Portugal | 2014
An everyday gesture – the crossing of a street – re-enabling vision. By introducing an odd element, even without changing the space itself, a reactivation of perception is proposed, giving experience its value back. Taking the metal prop from its utilitarian features to an artistic-architectonic – interventive – approach, and keeping its firmness and strong nature, this installation takes shape in the covering of a street – the metal prop gives up its unitary values and forms a continuous structure.

CEILING
Eira Lounge International Contest - 1st prize
Bons Sons Music Festival
Cem Soldos, Tomar, Portugal | 2015
From the symbolic and actual value of the land it is born an intervention that emphasises the community sense of the threshing-floor, metamorphosed to a music festival. With minimal contact with the ground, the supporting structure was based on two neutral scaffolding lines that sustained multiple layers of a permeable and always alive covering made with potato bags. The focus was set on this space in between ground and ceiling, that is, in the spatial situations it creates – by creating a ceiling, we have come to own a floor.
