The urban fabric that surrounds the plot presents a wide variety of infrastructures, building scales, typologies and uses. The main aim of the project is to densify the area, organizing the space with the built volumes and through the articulation of different parts of the urban fabric, without losing the idea of a unified project.
The block is one example of this: through the repetition of the volume, it punctuates the set of existing blocks, and makes a transition to the avenue continuous front. This block also creates a front for the newly created public space.
The housing floors were designed so as to have minimal internal distribution, and also so that each flat would have natural light from two fronts, emphasizing the transversal comprehension of each house. In spite of their regular layout, the houses aimed to be very flexible, with spaces that could have different uses, as for example the living room that may be expanded to a bedroom.
Considering the current living parameters, when the house has also become a working place, it has been also provided an independent space connected to each house. The social areas of the houses are linked with the exterior through the openings of the façade to large balconies.
